African American Read-In: A Community Celebration

Created by the National Council Teachers of English, this celebration truly emphasizes the importance of literacy during Black History Month. As an exciting collaboration, The Dock Bookshop has joined forces with the African American Museum in Dallas to host a local African American Read-In.

This captivating event showcases a wide array of activities, including public readings, poetry recitations, book discussions, speed dating, and the chance to meet accomplished authors and explore diverse vendors. Join us and be captivated as students, local celebrities, and community leaders take the stage to bring to life the works of their favorite African American writers. With a delightful mix of entertainment and education, this event is designed for both adults and children. It’s a magnificent opportunity to celebrate the richness of African American literature while fostering a love for reading in our community.
